Personalised evaluation

Student profile

An in-depth analysis of the student’s academic, social, verbal, emotional and physical needs. The academic and therapeutic history provides insight into the student’s current and future needs and goals.

Evaluation of skills

As part of the initial family interview, we evaluate the student’s current academic standing and investigate the opportunities for further education and training.

Collaboration with stakeholders

After the family interview, we gain further insight from other professionals, such as the student’s Occupational or Speech Therapist, Psychologist or Behavioural Therapist.

Building a personalised support programme

  1. Hand-picked mentors

We hand-pick mentors from our team of tutors. It is crucial for the success of the programme that students enjoy the lessons and “click” well with their tutors.

  2. Lessons at home

The well-trained and vetted tutor comes to your home for the one-on-one lessons.

  3. Structured practice

We set structured homework based on the student’s capabilities and requirements. Practice, independence and student buy-in are key.

  4. Engagement

We incorporate practical experiments, demonstrations, excursions, and projects to keep the lessons interesting and increase student engagement.

  5. Meta-academic skills

We teach skills such as time management, energy management, motivation, structure, test technique, study skills and stress management.

  6. Feedback

We hold regular feedback sessions and progress measurements.

  7. Supervision

We supervise, guide and support the programme to ensure that the student’s needs and expectations are met and exceeded.

How we operate

  1. Initial Consultation

We begin with a personalised consultation at our Fourways assessment centre, where we gain a thorough understanding of the student’s academic background, study approach, and long-term goals. This process includes both a qualitative discussion and a detailed analysis of their academic performance to ensure we tailor our approach to their unique needs.

  2. Tutor Matching

If tuition is recommended, we carefully select a tutor from our team who aligns with the student’s learning style and personality. Since we work directly with our tutors — not as an agency — we ensure that every student is paired with a mentor they can trust, connect with, and feel motivated to learn from.

  3. Personalised One-on-One Tuition

Lessons take place in the comfort of your home or at school, providing a structured yet flexible learning experience. Tutors establish a strong working relationship with the student, ensuring that lessons are engaging, effective, and aligned with their curriculum. Progress is monitored continuously, with structured work assigned between sessions to reinforce learning and track improvement.
